We’ve lived in an apartment that backs up to Rainier Trail (which connects to High School Trail then to Poo Poo Point Trail on Tiger Mountain) for almost six months. We’ve started the trail a few times, but as a family adventure we usually max out at about half a mile down any given trail. Today was sunny and we were all flexible, so I took off on my first solo hike of The Great Exploratory Sabbatical of 2017-2018. From our house, the hike was about 8mi/1945ft. Here are some memories of trees, creeks, and fungi.
